Hi, I'm Alik Pramanick, currently pursuing a PhD (January 2021) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India, under the joint supervision of Dr. Arijit Sur, and Dr. V. Vijaya Saradhi.
My research focuses on deep learning for underwater image processing, with expertise in image enhancement, super-resolution, and semantic segmentation. I develop models based on CNNs, transformers, and diffusion techniques to address challenges such as low visibility, color distortion, and poor contrast in underwater environments. I also explore unsupervised and self-supervised methods for understanding complex marine scenes, leveraging advanced architectures like Vision Transformers (ViTs), DINO, and multi-modal learning to achieve robust feature representation and semantic interpretation.
I am currently seeking opportunities in research and development (R&D), particularly in the areas of computer vision, deep learning, and image understanding.
